ジョホール王国 は1528年に成立したマレー半島南部を本拠とする港市国家で、マラッカ海峡両岸（現在のマレーシア、シンガポールおよびインドネシア）におよぶ海上帝国を築いた。マラッカ王国を継承したマレー人による国家でイスラーム教を奉じ、18世紀前半の政変を経て、王都はリアウ諸島のビンタン島（現インドネシア・リアウ諸島州）に遷された。現在のマレーシアを構成する州のひとつであるジョホール州として現代につらなる王国であり、今日も世襲のスルタンによって王位が継承されている。
